How to Plan the Perfect Soft Play Birthday Party

Planning a birthday party for your children can be exciting, but it can also seem overwhelming, even stressful. Some of the things you need to think about are where to start, what to focus on, how many and who to invite, what food to serve and how to make sure the event is going to be fun for everyone. One of the best things about birthday parties at soft play centres like Snakes & Ladders is that they can take all of the hassle out of the planning. So here are some things to consider when planning a soft play birthday party, and how Snakes & Ladders can help.

1. Select a Theme

One of the best ways to create an exciting birthday party is to come up with a theme that everyone will enjoy. Perhaps you want to go with a space theme surrounded by planets and stars? Or maybe a disco party complete with fancy lighting and a dance floor?

When booking a birthday party with Snakes & Ladders, you can choose from several themed rooms in which to host your party. From our brightly coloured circus room, to spaceships, submarines, and discos, we can provide a themed party your children will be sure to love. Then, once you have decided on a theme, you can plan elements such as party extras.

2. Choose a Venue

While there are many options for venues to host children’s birthday parties, soft play centres like Snakes & Ladders offer everything you need to ensure all children have a great time in a safe and fun environment. By booking your party at Snakes & Ladders your children can enjoy two hours of excitement and adventure, finishing with a delicious party meal.

Simply choose one of our locations in either Abingdon, Brentford, or Dunstable. Then select your themed party room, the number of guests, plus the date and time of the party. Once you have booked your party, Snakes & Ladders will handle the rest.

A £50 deposit is required to secure your date and room, and the final balance is due four days prior to the party, at which point you can make any final amendments.

3. Send out Invitations

The next thing to plan is who to invite to your child’s birthday party. Chances are your children will have a good idea of who they want to come along and will help you draw up a list. Once you have a set list of friends to invite, you can begin sending out invitations. You can create your own personalised invitations that reflect the theme of your party or use one of the free downloadable invitations from the Snakes & Ladders website.

Remember to include details such as date and time, location, RSVP date, contact info and any extra details like what to wear and what they want to eat. Try to send your invitations out a month in advance to give everyone enough time to prepare.

4. Food

Lastly, you will need to decide on what food options to serve at the party. After burning off all their energy in our fun-filled playcentre, our party host will lead your guests to their fabulously themed party room to enjoy their party meal. Keep in mind that children aren’t looking for anything too fancy when it comes to food, except maybe the birthday cake.

Food choices such as cheese and tomato pizza, or chicken nuggets and chips will satisfy those hungry tummies. Snakes & Ladders can provide food for all party guests, plus unlimited orange/blackcurrant squash and water, with a delicious biscuit treat for afters. Slush mocktails can be added to your package for that little something special. For the adults, why not add a sandwich platter for them to enjoy, too? You can avoid the headache of preparing party bags by adding our sweet cups and/or cupcakes for an extra treat.

At the end of the party, the birthday child and their guests will leave with memories to treasure forever.
